Welcome to Year 6!
We are excited to welcome you all back to school and for you to begin your Year 6 learning journey and final year at Cop Lane. We have a brilliant year ahead with lots of hard work and fascinating topics including World War 2, Disasters and Stone Age to Iron Age.
Your Year 6 team:

Class Governors: Mr. Thornton and Mrs. Nayi
On Monday and Friday afternoons, Mrs. Teague will be teaching the class.
On Monday afternoons, Mrs. Hastewell will be teaching the class French.
P.E.
For this half term, our P.E. days are on a Thursday and Friday. Children should continue to come to school in their P.E. kits on this day. Our P.E sessions could be outside, so children may wear tracksuit bottoms, P.E top, school jumper and trainers.
Homework
Weekly Task
A weekly task will set on a Friday to be completed by the following Friday.
TTRS
Children should continue to use Times Table Rock Stars to consolidate their times table knowledge.
Reading
Daily reading at home remains important in Year 6. Please continue to question and discuss the text with your child to develop their understanding and comprehension skills. We will continue to promote reading for pleasure in class so please note any other texts your child reads in their reading record. Reading books will be changed when children need a new book. We ask that children bring their reading book and record to school each day.
We visit the school library once a week on Fridays! To help us with the book change, if your child wants to change their book, please could they return them on Thursdays.
