Welcome to Year 3!
This autumn term, we are certainly in for an exciting adventure! We have been visited by a very special, marmalade eating bear! Paddington will be with us for part of this term and will inspire a lot of our work, we will create our own narratives with the mischievous bear as well as create a Lancashire Landmarks leaflet for Paddington to experience our local area.
On top of all of this English work, we are going to be expanding upon our knowledge of place value, addition and subtraction within maths. We are learning all things ‘rocks’ in Science, delving deep into our scientific enquiry skills and using these to further embed our understanding of the subject knowledge.
But that is not all! We have a whole curriculum of subjects that are being covered! If you’d like to take a peek at what we are covering, please refer to our whole class curriculum overview.
Please see the attached curriculum overview for more details about our learning in the Autumn term, and progression of learning throughout the year.

P.E / Things to remember:
★ Tuesday and Thursday are our P.E days. You will need to come into school in your P.E kits and will return home in these at the end of the day. Our P.E sessions could be outside, so you may wear tracksuit bottoms, P.E top, school jumper and trainers.
★ Spellings are given out weekly on Seesaw.
★ Reading records should be kept in your child’s bag. We will give your child a new book when they bring their reading book and record in, signed. The days to check these are Monday and Thursday.
★ We visit the school library once every two weeks on Fridays! To help us with the book change, if your child wants to change their book, please could they return them on Thursdays.
We look forward to a wonderful half term together!
Mrs Gill
