Summer Term in EYFS

Welcome to the EYFS page. As you know, our teachers are Mrs Barnes and Mrs Bourne.  Mrs Barnes takes the lead on a Monday-Wednesday and Mrs Bourne on a Thursday and Friday, although Mrs Bourne is in class all week. We are very happy that Mrs J, will also be working with us on a Thursday and Friday.

This term we are also very happy that Mrs Warren, a student teacher, will be joining our team and supporting your child’s learning and development for the next ten weeks. Please see the letter sent on Seesaw.

You can find information about our learning in the EYFS class here  EYFS 2025-2026 updated RE and more specifically for this half term here Summer 1 2026 .

You can support the learning this half term again by using the ‘Learning at home’ activities https://www.coplaneprimary.co.uk/our-classes/reception/learning-at-home/

Our PE sessions continue to be on a WEDNESDAY and a FRIDAY. Please remember that your child needs to come to school in their Cop Lane school PE kit on these days and have any earrings or any other jewellery removed.

Please remember that we learn outdoors in all weathers, so children do need a waterproof/warm coat – as you know, the weather in our country can be very temperamental!  All children have their wellies in school in a bag, for us to use with our outdoor learning, thank you for this.

Our class Governors this year are Mrs Taylor and Mr Spence and we look forward to seeing them this term in class.

We will keep sharing information and photographs with you via Seesaw, so please check regularly.

Don’t forget, we also have the Parent Information book creator that has lots of information in for you. https://read.bookcreator.com/9UeLYTJOXWMfgFVgcZdN4ljRSCr2/NoCAFzSXTveVSlnNTcN7pg

Growth Mindset

One of the things we focus on in our school is having a Growth Mindset, rather than thinking we can’t do things, saying we might not be able to do things yet.

This link explains it a little bit more

https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/grownups/help-your-child-try-new-things

In the Reception class the children take part in activities and experiences linked to the EYFS framework. The children work within three Prime and four Specific Areas of Learning and Development, to enable them to learn and develop at their own rate to reach their potential.  These Areas of Learning are:

Personal, Social and Emotional Development         Physical Development

Communication and Language              Mathematics

Literacy         Understanding the World        Expressive Arts and Design

•    We are changing our worships this term, trialling a new Chistian Values worhsip and a new celebration worship at the end of a half term – please see the leter sent on Seesaw from Mr Ashmore. We will let you know if your child is receiving a celebration certificate prior to the worship, so you can hopefully attend on the Friday morning and celerbate with us.
•    We hope you will find this information useful. Please feel free to contact us via the main office and we can give you a call, or you can speak to us on the gate after school.
Thank you for your support.
