School Improvement Priorities

Whole School Improvement Priorities – 2026-2027

Our school improvement priorities for 2026-2027 are:

Mathematics

To review and strengthen mathematics across the school, with a particular focus on KS2 attainment and progress, by evaluating curriculum coherence, the impact of Mastering Number, multiplication fluency and the consistency of teaching and staff subject knowledge.

Church school distinctiveness

To continue to embed Questful RE across the school, strengthening pupils’ disciplinary knowledge and understanding of theology, philosophy and human social sciences so that they can can apply these lenses when exploring religious and ethical questions.To develop pupils’ disciplinary knowledge in Religious Education by deepening their understanding of theology, social sciences, and philosophy, enabling them to identify and apply these disciplinary lenses when exploring religious and ethical questions

To strengthen pupils’ involvement in the planning and regular leadership of collective worship. 

PSHE

To implement the revised statutory RSHE curriculum effectively across the school, ensuring that PSHE remains fully compliant, well sequenced and high quality, while embedding Lancashire priorities and myHappymind to strengthen pupils’ personal development and wellbeing.

Leadership and Management including governance

To familiarise staff at all levels and governors with the new Ofsted framework and toolkit, and to use it throughout the year to support ongoing self-evaluation against the inspection criteria.

 To further strengthen the school’s CPD provision so that it continues to support the professional growth of all staff.

 To establish a consistent approach to provision across EYFS and Key Stage 1, so that continuous provision, enhancements and enhanced provision are used effectively to support learning, independence, challenge and progression. 

 To continue working collaboratively with the senior leadership team to ensure robust financial management, a balanced budget, value for money and spending that aligns with the school’s strategic priorities and improvement plan.
